GB Railfreight extends Drax deal

GB Railfreight will continue operating coal trains for Drax until 2017.

Trains will run from Hunterston Port Bulk Terminal (Ayrshire) and from the Port of Blyth to Drax’s power station near Selby. GBRf will use its 101.6-tonne capacity coal hoppers and Class 66s, of which the company has 71 with a further seven on order.

The freight company says the renewal of the deal “signified confidence Drax has in the level and flexibility of services offered by GBRf”.
