Over the past week, a cutting in Baildon has slipped, prompting Network Rail teams to ‘work around the clock’ to reinstate rail services.
Work is set to begin on repairing the embankment to which engineers were made alert following reports of cracks, prompting site inspections since Monday February 5.
The incident has caused disruption to passengers with services between Bradford Forster Square and Ilkley suspended. Bradford Forster Square - Leeds and Leeds - Ilkley services aren’t affected.
Northern is operating rail replacement services for passengers travelling on the affected Bradford Forster Square to Ilkley line.
Network Rail says that early estimations indicate the line could reopen mid-March 2024. Meanwhile it is continuing to support affected residents while work is carried out near their properties.
