GBRf’s latest Class 69 to be prepared for traffic has been outshopped in a special Police livery to highlight the British Transport Police text service 61016.
The locomotive, 69016, was unveiled in its blue and white livery, with high visibility yellow squares around its solebar, at Waterloo on May 30.
It is the penultimate Class 69 to be outshopped with just 69015 to follow.
The last two repaints, those for 69013/016, have been in liveries to promote worthwhile causes – the mental health charity Andy’sManClub, and now the BTP.
Previous police-liveried locomotives included 37093 in the early 1980s for a TV advert, and 47829 in the 2000s during the final years of Virgin CrossCountry's use of Class 47s.
