The latest GB Railfreight Class 69 repaint undertaken by Arlington Fleet Services at Eastleigh has seen 69013 unveiled in a special livery to promote Andy’sManClub, the mental health charity that helps men deal with issues.
The locomotive sports an all-over black with white window frames and small yellow panels, and has Andy’sManClub contact details and the hashtag #itsoktotalk on its bodysides.
Andy’sManClub highlights that male suicide is the biggest killer of men under 54, with male mental health issues surrounded by well-ingrained cultural stigma in the UK.
The charity was set up in 2016 with the aim of preventing families from going through the heartache and grief caused by suicide, by encouraging men to speak openly about their mental health issues.
69013 had been in traffic for several months running in green undercoat, as it was needed for Railhead Treatment Train work last autumn.
It has only just been made available to release for painting.
The same day that the locomotive was unveiled (April 28), 69016 arrived at Eastleigh for repainting. It too will sport a special livery.
That will leave just 69015 to be painted and enter traffic, which should happen later this summer.
