Serco signs deal for CAF Sleeper stock

A £148.5 million contract (200 million euros) for 75 carriages for the Caledonian Sleeper franchise was signed today (February 10). Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF) will manufacture the vehicles.

The project is being funded with £60m from the Scottish government, with additional financing provided by Caledonian Sleepers Rail Leasing, a subsidiary of Lombard North Central Plc.

They will be of five types, formed into four trains of 16 coaches, with a further 11 to be constructed as spare vehicles.

The colour scheme is my main concern . It does not convey the image of a modern dynamic railway company . You need your trains to turn heads . Midnight Teal will not do that it's dreadful .
