More ex-Southeastern Class 465s units among latest to go for scrap

A handful of EMUs have been moved for scrap in recent weeks.

On April 24, 37800 Cassiopeia towed 321316 as the 1145 Wembley-Newport Docks for disposal at Sims Group.

May 1 saw 37884 Cepheus haul 465240/248 as the 0858 Ely Papworth Sidings-Newport Docks and a week later it was 37800 used to work the same train with 465243/250 off for breaking up.

It’s not just been units for disposal that have been occupying the ROG Class 37 fleet.

They have also been used to move several units to and from refurbishment.

On May 2, 37800 worked 5Q87, the 0557 Widnes Transport Tech-New Cross Gate CSD returning 378214 from refurbishment.

It then returned north taking 378206 for its upgrade as 5Q36, the 1331 New Cross Gate CSD-Widnes Transport Tech.
