The second of two Class 90s acquired by Freightliner from DB Cargo (90018) returned to traffic in mid-March.

After repairs at Crewe Basford Hall depot, the locomotive was given a main line test partnered by 90040 (coincidentally, the other ex-DB Class 90 the company acquired in April 2024).

Like 90040, 90018 retains its DB Cargo red livery with large Freightliner logos applied. Both locomotives should be repainted soon into Freightliner colours.

With 90046 still stored, it brings the Freightliner fleet of serviceable ‘90s’ back up to 24.

Meanwhile, GB Railfreight welcomed 92020 Billy Stirling back into traffic on March 19, when it was returned to Wembley after repairs to minor cabside collision damage, carried out by UK Rail Leasing at its Loughborough site.

57310 collected the ‘92’and took it as the 1337 Loughborough Brush-Wembley TC light engine move.

DB Cargo’s 92011 has moved to Toton for repainting. The locomotive, still sporting the same paint from when it was built in 1993, was recently reactivated and should reappear in DBC’s red.
