Harry Needle Railroad Company has sold 09006, which has joined another recent HNRC sale (09106) at the Dean Forest Railway (DFR) at Lydney.
The latter has already been reactivated. But 09006, which last worked in June 2008 and has been stored at Nemesis Rail at Burton for several years, will require more work before it is fit to haul trains.
Both are owned by private individuals. While 09006 is preserved, 09106 is essentially preserved but may be made available for commercial hire.
On October 16, 09015 moved from the Avon Valley Railway to join its two Class 09 classmates at the DFR to help speed up its ongoing overhaul.
Also on the move was preserved 08359, which was taken by road from Bodmin and Wenford Railway to the Kent & East Sussex Railway on October 14/15.
Also moving on October 14 was 08308, the rebuilt electric ‘e08’, which was taken from Barrow Hill to Whatley for tests.
GB Railfreight 09009 was taken to Wishaw. And 09022, based at Victoria Ports’ Boston Docks, was taken to Tyseley from Wishaw, possibly for tyre turning.
On October 1, 08507 was moved by road from Teesport to Wishaw for repairs.
