Meanwhile, the Class 730/2s are still undergoing main line testing and have yet to carry passengers.

On July 16, Rail Operation Group’s 37601 Perseus took 730220 from Crewe Carriage Sidings to Long Marston for store, while 37884 Cepheus collected ex-Transport for Wales bi-mode 769006 and took it from Long Marston to Kilmarnock

On July 22, 37884 worked the 0905 Willesden TMD-Long Marston, towing 730212/217. However, the train suffered brake issues and was held at Whitacre Down Arley Loop.

Once the issues were resolved, the ‘37’ took the two units back to Derby Litchurch Lane at 2009.

In Merseyside, 777033/047 were collected from Warrington Sidings on July 17 and taken to Kirkdale by 43423/467 and 43468/480. This leaves just two Class 777s to be delivered to Merseyrail.

Finally, 777037 also entered traffic on July 19.
