Revealed: most unreliable train operators according to new data

New passenger rail performance data has placed TransPennine Express (narrowly) as one of the most unreliable train operators. Research carried out by accident compensation experts at Claims.co.uk has shared which train operators have the highest percentage of cancelled or significantly late trains to determine which operator is most likely to experience disruptions throughout 2024.

The data investigated passenger rail performance between 2018 and 2022, analysing over 20 train operators and their performance, with TPE revealed to be the operator most likely to have service disruptions according to passenger rail performance data, with 7.95% of its services cancelled between 2018 and 2021. The operator is closely followed by Avanti West Coast, with nearly 60% of its trains arriving late between 2018 and 2021.

LNER ranks among the top three operators with poor rail performance, with 6.81% of its services cancelled, and 62.9% of its trains arriving on schedule.

A 6 year review is totally meaningless and irrelevant Use a yearly and a 2 or 3 year moving average for it to be useful That way stock and services no longer in operation and the effects of the Pandemic would be excluded but more current data used, reflecting up to date practices and achievements

I travel between Milton Keynes and Llandudno Junction. There used to be through trains but now I have to hang around in Crewe. Consequently, I travel less.
