TPE accepts its final Nova 3

Acceptance of the 44th and final Nova 3 rake of coaches at Manchester International depot at Longsight on June 17 means that TransPennine Express now has a full complement of new trains.

The 13 five-coach sets with 291 seats, designated Mk 5a and hauled by a DRS Class 68, were built by CAF in Spain and are leased from Beacon Rail.

They will complete the upgrade of services between Liverpool, Manchester and Scarborough, expanding to Teesside later in the year.

With half of their trains parked up, trains showing 'cancelled due to a late arrival' when the train didn't even leave the depot in the morning, the only arrival at TPE I look forward too is the OLR when they remove the FirstGroup clowns who have consistently destroyed their two busiest.. Liverpool-Manchester and Liverpool Scotland routes.
