The first Class 153 to meet Persons with Reduced Mobility - Technical Specification for Interoperability (PRM-TSI) regulations has entered service with Transport for Wales.
Four are due in traffic by the end of the year. They will be cascaded to other operators once TfW introduces new trains.
“As well as being fully accessible, the train now has USB and electrical sockets to allow customers to charge their devices and work on the go for longer - alongside the free WiFi service, with data being doubled on all our trains since November 1,” a TfW spokesman told RAIL.
“These trains are incredibly versatile and can operate on the majority of our routes and couple with other trains in our fleet. By Christmas we will have four refurbished units back in service and the programme will continue apace into the New Year.”
The TfW fleet contains: 153303/312/320/323/325/327/329/333/353/361/362/367/369, and these will be joined by 153306/309/314/322/335 from Greater Anglia.

Dear gfs, I hope they put enough coaches so people don't have to stand,I'm disabled,at times ,I have had to do that,and are the disabled seats available are well signed so people are fully aware,they're are for disabled ( because no one cares ) . You tell us were the destination are or going to,but you don't tell us which side of the train you get off,That's most important,especially of a night,and are there's coaches made or refurbished in Wales,if not shame on you Wales needs work,and we would be proud,and the jobs done to a high standard,need I go on ???
