Bond Street Tube fully open three weeks early

Bond Street London Underground station is now fully open again following vital tunnelling work being completed. The work was finised three weeks early, made possible by previous work to connect the new ticket hall to the existing station also being completed ahead of schedule.

The redevelopment work at Bond Street station is part of LU's continuing improvements to the network. A new modernised station will open in 2017 to provide an interchange with Crossrail and allowing the station to cope with an expected 45% increase in passenger numbers.

New lifts will make the station step-free from street to platform and new escalators are being fitted to hand the increasing number of passengers who will use the station.
