Extra trains for Edinburgh Festival

ScotRail has confirmed that later trains will run and that existing services will be reinforced with extra carriages to and from Edinburgh, during the Edinburgh Festivals.

More than two million people are expected to descend on the Scottish capital between August 5-28, to attend thousands of shows held at more than 250 venues.

Extra late-night trains will operate from Edinburgh to Glasgow Queen Street via Falkirk High for the duration.

There will also be an additional departure from North Berwick at 0001 to support return travel from the Fringe by the Sea.

Extra carriages will be added to key services to and from Edinburgh to Tweedbank, Fife, Perth, Dundee, Stirling, Dunblane and Glasgow Central.
