Network Rail has begun the process of appointing a main contractor to build the new Forth Bridge Experience reception hub outside Edinburgh.
Interested parties are being asked to contact NR before it shortlists firms to tender for the project later in the year. A main contractor is expected to be appointed by the end of 2022, with work on-site commencing in 2023.
A virtual pre-market engagement event took place on April 5, ahead of the start of the formal procurement exercise.
Revised proposals for the Forth Bridge Experience were submitted to Edinburgh Council earlier this year. They include the construction of a car park and reception centre on the south side of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and a viewing platform some 367ft (110m) above sea level.
