Work has begun on a £2 million project to upgrade East Midlands Railway’s Eastcroft train depot in Nottingham.
EMR described the facility as being at “the heart of its regional operations”, providing essential maintenance for trains that serve locations from Crewe to Cleethorpes and Norwich to Liverpool. The project will enable Eastcroft to stable more trains simultaneously, with the installation of additional fuel pumps and an upgrade to the train cleaning facilities. Work is scheduled for completion in June 2022.
