HS2 apprentice milestone reached

Solihull resident Danielle Taylor has become the 650th apprentice working on the delivery of HS2.

The 29-year-old former banking audit officer works for contractor Flannery as a Level 2 Plant Operator. She is currently employed on excavation work in Warwickshire.

Ultimately, the aim is to provide 2,000 apprenticeships across the lifetime of the HS2 project.

HS2 Minister Andrew Stephenson said that reaching 650 apprenticeships at this point “shows HS2’s firm commitment to create a lasting skills legacy”.
