Help for stations’ rough sleepers

No one should need to sleep rough on any UK station once all staff have been properly trained to help desperate people, says Rail Minister Chris Heaton-Harris.

After learning of the success of two pilot schemes at Birmingham New Street and Manchester Piccadilly, involving the Shelter charity, Heaton-Harris has set a target of three years for Network Rail’s plan to safeguard the vulnerable take effect.
