c2c commuters take advantage of new flexi-ticket

More than 5,000 journeys were made using c2c’s Flexi-Season ticket for part-time commuters, in the fortnight after its launch.

The ticket provides ten journeys each at a discounted price, and the operator said that more than 550 commuters in Essex had bought the ticket, which was launched in June (RAIL 803).

And the number of people registering for the free c2c smartcard needed before passengers buy their Flexi-Season has trebled since the new ticket was introduced.

“We knew that this ticket would really appeal to some local commuters, but we’ve been amazed at how quickly it has caught on,” said c2c Managing Director Julian Drury. “This shows how many people want a ticket that gives them greater flexibility.”
