Better assistance for EMT journeys

East Midlands Trains 158864 and 158810 at Nottingham on December 18, with the 0550 Norwich-Liverpool. RICHARD CLINNICK.

East Midlands Trains passengers can now book assistance with their journeys 12 hours in advance, rather than the previous 24.

The measure forms part of an agreement made between the operator and the Department for Transport whereby £13 million will be invested in customer service improvements in the next two years. Assistance can be booked via EMT’s website or by telephoning 0345 7125 678.

More than 1,600 assistance bookings are made every month with EMT.
