Network Rail opens Rugby ROC

The £22 million Rugby Rail Operating Centre (ROC) was officially opened on November 11 by Michael Stokes, the leader of Rugby Borough Council.

The facility is one of 12 ROCs being built by Network Rail to replace more than 800 signal boxes. The first area to be controlled by Rugby is Stafford, with Norton Bridge due to follow in Easter 2016. Further areas will be transferred to Rugby as they are resignalled. At full capacity, 400 staff will work in Rugby ROC.
