£1.1m to repair Stechford viaducts

The repair of two ailing viaducts at Stechford, on the Coventry-Birmingham route, is expected to cost £1.1 million.

Network Rail has begun its inspection two red-brick structures over the River Cole that are showing signs of mild fatigue after 185 years’ use, and is replacing broken bricks and repointing the rest. The work will take until November.
