FirstGroup’s former head of open access, Martijn Gilbert, has joined Arriva.
RAIL revealed in June how Gilbert was leaving his post as First Rail Managing Director, Open Access, Tram and Cable, after nearly three years in the role.
He has been appointed Managing Director of Arriva UK Bus, effective from August 18. He will also join its Executive Committee.
Gilbert has previously worked in the bus industry, having been Managing Director at Go North East and East Yorkshire between 2018 and 2022, and was Chief Executive of Reading Buses between November 2014 and August 2018.
It will be Gilbert’s second stint at Arriva having played a role in its UK Trains Divisional Operations from April 2008 to August 2013.
