The 30 wagons previously used for bitumen trains from Preston Docks have now been moved to southern Scotland for storage.

The remaining 18 wagons were taken from Preston Docks, where they had been in storage, to Eastriggs, near Gretna, on March 4, where they joined the 12 that were moved in January.

The Colas Rail-operated service between Preston and Haverton Hill oil depot in Teesside ended in November as the volume was deemed insufficient to move by rail by customer Total Energies.

Colas’s 56113 took 18 wagons to Eastriggs on March 4 after classmate 56049 took the first batch of 12 on January 20.
