Another nine DB Cargo Class 66s have been fitted with in-cab monitoring equipment.
Now modified, and in the WBGT ‘Guardian’ pool, are 66004/015/025/041/068/079/094/120/136, as well as prototype 66139.
DB Cargo has also created a WQNC pool for those locos that are to be hired to other freight operator companies. Some are expected to be used by GB Railfreight and Colas for RHTT work this autumn.
In the new pool are 66040/075/076/083/089/095/119/121/140, of which 66040/076/083/121/140 had been temporarily stored.
Two other ‘66s’ have, however, been stored, namely 66006/170, now in the WQAA pool while 66002 has been returned to the WBAT active pool.
66078 has moved into the WBVT pool for shunting for Victa Railfreight at Peak Forest, a move to cover for 66133 which has returned to Toton for repairs but remains in the WBVT pool.
Another reinstatement is that of 92011, which is now in the WFBC operational pool, but the DBC Class 92 pool has not increased because 92015 is now stored at Crewe EMD, moving into the WQAA pool.
Fellow FOC, Freightliner has returned previously stored 66413/418 to traffic and are now back in the DFIN active pool.
