Northern applies for Todmordern Curve service

Northern Rail applied to the Office of Rail Regulation on February 23 for permission to run hourly services from Manchester Victoria via the newly-constructed Todmorden Curve to Blackburn.

Most trains will be extensions of the existing services that currently turn back at Todmorden, but there will be one additional service each day. All trains will call at Burnley Manchester Road, Rose Grove and Accrington, and Church and Oswaldtwistle will be served on Sundays. The long-awaited service starts with the more general timetable change on May 17.
