ON THIS DAY: First Class 50 returns to main line service

On this day 18 years ago (November 1 1997), The Fifty Fund's 50031 Hood became the first Class 50 to return to the main line since they were withdrawn by British Rail in March 1994. RAIL's Pip Dunn was there for the return, and this is his report as published in RAIL 318.
