Moorfields Phase 2 upgrade starts

The second phase of the £12 million upgrade of Moorfields station in Liverpool was due to begin on January 4.

New flooring, enamel cladding on the walls, and brighter lighting will be installed. Nine of the station’s escalators will also be upgraded to cope with a predicted increase in passenger numbers.

The first refurbished platform re-opened in August, with the second due to be completed in spring 2016 and the third also completed next year.
