Southern launches cycle hub

A £1.5 million, 500 space cycle hub was formally opened by Rail Minister Baroness Kramer at Brighton station on March 27.

The new hub is located at the rear of the station and provides 500 secure cycle parking spaces as well as other faciltiies for both rail passengers and non-rail travellers alike.

The ground floor of the facility will shortly become a cycle repair and maintenance workshop as well as a coffee shop .

Upstairs, work is being completed on spinning bike facilities to complement showers, changing rooms and accessible toilets.  Office space for rent on a short term basis.

Funding for the facility has been provided by the Department for Transport, Brighton and Hove City Council and Network Rail.
