The new Inter City East Coast franchise, operated by Inter City Railways under the Virgin Trains East Coast (90% Stagecoach/10% Virgin) began operation on March 1. The following morning, PAUL PRENTICE witnessed the arrival of the first train set to be unveiled in the new colours.
