A leading rail engineering organisation seeks to secure the services of a Training & Competence Manager with either p-way or rail civils knowledge and have experience in managing the training of a delivery team in a relevant area, as well as a proven commitment to health and safety training and standards. This can be a contract or permanent appointment based in Manchester where you will be working on a flag ship rail engineering programme.
As Training & Competence Manager you will be responsible for leading and managing the training and competence process for this leading organisation. This will involve the establishment and maintenance of the competence management system and processes, managing records, booking internal and external training, and assessing training needs across the company. The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities and accountabilities:
Managing all engineering and delivery related competences, expiries & re-certifications
Managing the training and competence team
Arranging training and briefings (both in-house, and externally provided)
Developing the Datascope / MACE5 system
Assisting the PEM with training initiatives and investigations where competence is a factor
Developing the Transpire rail systems competence management system (in accordance with the over-arching company processes being implemented by the professional heads / assurance team)
To be considered for the role of Training & Competence Manager candidates will have previous experience in managing the training of a delivery team in a relevant area, as well as a proven commitment to health and safety training and standards. You will have PWAY or rail civil engineering knowledge (if this is from a site supervisory capacity this would be great but not essential) and have knowledge and understanding of competence management systems and standards.
