As lockdown restrictions ease and we start to consider travelling again, the future of cross-Channel operator Eurostar remains uncertain.
Eurostar is seeking financial support from the UK Government, citing higher access charges here as a reason.
The French Government has pledged to provide support for the operator, while £200 million has been provided by one of its shareholders, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ) and Hermes Infrastructure.
Registered in the UK and supporting 3,000 jobs either with the business or in the supply chain, the company is, however, 55% owned by SNCF (French state rail), 40% by CDPQ/Hermes and 5% by SNCB (Belgian state railways).

Position Summary:
You will take the lead on all training & assessment of engineering staff within the rolling stock maintenance depot. This will cover all training & assessment for maintenance, repair, overhaul, depot processes and procedures. You will also be responsible for managing the staff competency matrix and ensuring that all training & competencies are kept up to date. You will develop & deliver training courses and work closely with third party suppliers and OEMs.
*Design and delivery of technical training within mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic rolling stock systems
*Deliver training on depot procedures & operations
*Maintain the rolling stock maintenance teams competencies
*Record all training & competencies in the central matrix
*Help influence a culture of continual improvement
*On Call duties as part of the fleet technical team

*Minimum of level 3 within any engineering discipline
*Practical maintenance experience on any heavy vehicle is essential; rolling stock including light rail or OTMs is highly desirable
*Ideally a recognised training qualification - A1, C&G 7300 or 7331, A2, Train the Trainer
*HNC/HND or Degree within engineering would be beneficial but is not essential

*Organised and logical worker
*Can manage high volumes of data
*Able to plan well and prioritise training requirements in line with production needs
*Dual skilled - familiar with all rolling stock systems mechanical, electrical, comms & electronic
*Able to manage, motivate and inspire
