Contract length: 6 months

My client is looking for a technical author to join their signalling team.

The role will involve supporting the software development team by producing documentation to support the software assurance process.
For example, technical authors write requirements documentation, interface control documents and user manuals.
Technical authors will specify the methodological and technological details of a project in documents, that is designed to allow the reader to understand a subject or use a piece of software. A common task is capturing the requirements for a piece of software, from which a developer can produce the code.

Technical authors need enough knowledge to understand their subject thoroughly. However, when writing they must bear in mind the perspective of their readers, who may be encountering the subject for the first time. Working in the safety-critical railway environment, there is a strong need for clarity and consistency; ambiguity can be catastrophic
