As lockdown restrictions ease and we start to consider travelling again, the future of cross-Channel operator Eurostar remains uncertain.
Eurostar is seeking financial support from the UK Government, citing higher access charges here as a reason.
The French Government has pledged to provide support for the operator, while £200 million has been provided by one of its shareholders, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ) and Hermes Infrastructure.
Registered in the UK and supporting 3,000 jobs either with the business or in the supply chain, the company is, however, 55% owned by SNCF (French state rail), 40% by CDPQ/Hermes and 5% by SNCB (Belgian state railways).

Ganymede is one of the leading suppliers of qualified, multi-disciplined operatives in the rail industry. We have recently won several new contracts and urgently need Skilled Track Operatives working alongside our existing contractors in the Derby, Nottingham, East Midlands and surrounding areas.

Experience is preferred but as an ambassador for Ganymede, a positive attitude, ability to work in a team, flexible can-do approach and total commitment to Health & Safety are the key qualities we demand.

These are long-term ongoing contracts with regular work banks. They include weekdays, weeknights and weekend working.

Rates are competitive and will reflect your skills and experience

It goes without saying all workers will need

PTS certification and a valid and in-date Sentinel card. This must be endorsed with DCCR, Track Induction (TIC) & ICI
Willing to work shifts, including days, nights and weekends
In-date medical and valid D&A completed in the last three months
