As lockdown restrictions ease and we start to consider travelling again, the future of cross-Channel operator Eurostar remains uncertain.
Eurostar is seeking financial support from the UK Government, citing higher access charges here as a reason.
The French Government has pledged to provide support for the operator, while £200 million has been provided by one of its shareholders, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ) and Hermes Infrastructure.
Registered in the UK and supporting 3,000 jobs either with the business or in the supply chain, the company is, however, 55% owned by SNCF (French state rail), 40% by CDPQ/Hermes and 5% by SNCB (Belgian state railways).

We are dealing with an ever-growing consultancy looking to expand their team by recruiting a Senior Bridge Design Engineer to be based in London.

You will be working on the CP6 framework and the Civils Asset Management framework in Anglia region to undertake remediation works to Network Rail’s structural assets and bridge replacement and bridge refurbishment works. Remediation works including, scoping, options and investigation findings reports, strengthening and repairs through F001 to F003 and GRIP 3 to 5 & support at GRIP 6; Refurbishment works; replacement works including various railway bridges. 

You will work under the Engineering Manager delivering Bridge Design schemes on Network rail projects. This could suite a near Chartered Engineer or early Chartered Engineer with extensive Bridge Design experience, so a Bridge Engineer looking to step up or a Senior Engineer looking for a new challenge.

As mentioned, this position is based in London, specifically South London.

Job requirements

Strong ability in various software packages ideally including LUSAS and MIDAS, with strong experience in Finite Element Analysis preferred.
Strong knowledge and experience of the following: Eurocode, British, Highways England and Network Rail Standards.
Strong experience in delivering bridge design
Extensive experience with bridge inspection, assessment and design schemes.
Proven project management experience delivering to quality, time and budget.
Extensive experience in rail projects in the UK.
