You will be joining a reputable and firmly established, rail and civil engineering contractor with a national presence and a company turnover approaching circa £300m (Group TO £500m+).
As a specialist civil, building, mechanical and electrical renewals and maintenance business recognised on contracts and frameworks across the country, you will become part of a renowned brand name and team giving you the opportunity to grow in conjunction with this ambitious and forward-thinking business.
About the Job
This is an outstanding opportunity to make your mark in a busy and fast paced rail asset maintenance work stream (rail civils projects £10k - £100k). The role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is an exciting opening for you to shine and demonstrate your skills and capabilities of overseeing multiple low value, high turnover schemes and management of a small team.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be:
Leading the commercial management of multiple sites on time and to budget.
Manage a team of 4 commercial staff (Quantity Surveyors, Assistant Quantity Surveyor and Administrator
Pricing and ensuring estimates are submitted accurately and on time,
Resolving pricing issues with Network Rail
Client Liaison
Liaison with Site Managers to collate information on day to day remits,
Subcontractor management
CVR’s
Final accounting.
The Ideal candidate
Ideally you will have recently worked in a rail asset management/maintenance framework environment as a Senior Quantity Surveyor overseeing a team of more junior commercial staff.
Desirable/Advantageous
Rail civils framework experience
Essential
Maintenance framework experience (rail, highways, utilities etc) – low value / high volume
Degree qualified
NEC / NR Contract experience
Remuneration
£50,000 - £55,000
car/car allowance
Pension matched to 5%
Healthcare
Life assurance
25 days holiday + bank holidays (8) and option to buy additional 5 days’.
