As lockdown restrictions ease and we start to consider travelling again, the future of cross-Channel operator Eurostar remains uncertain.
Eurostar is seeking financial support from the UK Government, citing higher access charges here as a reason.
The French Government has pledged to provide support for the operator, while £200 million has been provided by one of its shareholders, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ) and Hermes Infrastructure.
Registered in the UK and supporting 3,000 jobs either with the business or in the supply chain, the company is, however, 55% owned by SNCF (French state rail), 40% by CDPQ/Hermes and 5% by SNCB (Belgian state railways).

An opportunity has recently arisen to manage and inspire their stable and successful team selling specifically to the Rail Industry, based out of their Head Office in Chesterfield. You will be required to:

• Manage a 7 person internal sales team.

• Assume responsibility for a £10M turnover business.

• Liaise closely with the 5 purchasers working the vertical rail market.

• Personally Key Account manage significant accounts.

• Ensure the team proactively pursue new business.

• Branch P+L responsibility.


Our client is looking for an exceptional sales manager with the following qualities:

• Sales management background.

• OEM supply chain knowledge.

• Industrial consumables (fastener, wire & cable, adhesives, etc.)

• Experience of developing existing business/accounts.

• Excellent Key Account Management skills.

• Successful history in proactively winning new business.

• Must enjoy working in a lively close-knit team environment.
