The Company: A professional, fast growing innovative contractor who deliver projects in the Rail & Environmental Engineering environment (River/Coastal) have a new position for a QS to join their expanding team.
Assisting the the Operational Team with support and advice on effective contract management across their rail, riparian and temporary works projects. The role will be based from their offices and at sites across the nation as and when required by the business. This is a new position, and the successful candidate will be part of the management team.
The company are fast growing and work with leading principal contractors, designers and infrastructure providers.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for all aspects relating to the delivery of projects including tendering, client liaison and commercial management.
• This is to include negotiation and maintenance of varied contracts, JCT, NEC etc.
• Support and advise on commercial and contractual matters
• Assist in keeping costs to a minimum and forecasting costs to completion.
• Understand the requirements, within each project, of statutory authorities and regulators.
• Manage the documentation and recovery for Compensation Events.
• Advising on potential risks and evaluating risk controls
• Maintaining and managing positive client relationships
To apply:
* 5 years post graduation as a minimum
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying is preferred
* Experience with NEC3 form of contract
* Confident with clients, meetings and contractual duties
* Have an ability in negotiating across the various levels of the construction environment
* Possess excellent numeracy and IT skills.
* Experience in the rail and environmental engineering sectors preferred.
