As lockdown restrictions ease and we start to consider travelling again, the future of cross-Channel operator Eurostar remains uncertain.
Eurostar is seeking financial support from the UK Government, citing higher access charges here as a reason.
The French Government has pledged to provide support for the operator, while £200 million has been provided by one of its shareholders, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ) and Hermes Infrastructure.
Registered in the UK and supporting 3,000 jobs either with the business or in the supply chain, the company is, however, 55% owned by SNCF (French state rail), 40% by CDPQ/Hermes and 5% by SNCB (Belgian state railways).

My client is a global engineering organisation currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team in Derby. With locations across the globe this is a truly international organisation that is seen as a market leader in their sector.

Position Summary:

As a Quality Engineer you will be expected to support the implementation of the quality plan in order to deliver the project right first time.

With this you will be required to support the application and use of various quality tools i.e. quality gates and FMEAs, as well as provide feedback on the fulfilment of quality requirements against the deliverables.

You will be expected to identify quality issues early i.e. non-conformance and either eliminate or mitigate any risks in relation to the product. Alongside this you will monitor the performance of the processes and provide feedback to the various stakeholders; all the while applying your problem solving skills to aid in the improvement of any processes.

Key Responsibilities:

*Application and improvement of quality tools i.e. FMEAs and quality gates
*Monitor the performance of any tools used
*Monitor the deliverables of each project with regards to quality
*Mitigate any risks
*Communicate performance, risks etc to stakeholders

Required Skills and Experience:

*2-3 years' experience in a relevant position
*Experience with APQP
*Experience in Auditing
*Knowledge of ISO 9001
*Experience with Root Cause Analysis
*Excellent problem solving skills
*Previous experience in an engineering environment
*Experience in a rail, automotive or similar environment
