Role Purpose;
Prepare the apprentice to be able to demonstrate consistently that they have met the required industry, set professional standards enabling them to be supported through gateway to end point assessment. This will include supporting the employer to confidently decide at what point this will take place.
End point assessment can be inclusive of a wide array of testing and assessment methodologies which will be specific to your sector. You will support the apprentice for readiness for end point assessment by ensuring that they are capable and confident in all expected methods.
The ideal candidate will have served a formal Engineering apprenticeship with relevant industry experience. Subject knowledge of Engineering, particularly Rail, at a practical and theoretical level is a pre-requisite for the position.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required;
Structured period of practical training within the specialist area and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the relevant specialist field.
A1/V1 Assessor/Verifier Awards or be prepared to gain this
Literate and numerate holding a minimum level 2 or equivalent in maths and English
Demonstrates experience of main skills relevant to role
Qualification within the Engineering Industry, Aero/Rail or Electronics disciplines would be advantageous
Duties;
Deliver work based learning and assessment for student placements.
To take full staff responsibility for groups of students and for assessing them in areas identified in provided schemes of work and lesson plans.
Implement a student centred negotiated learning programme in accordance with the College’s curriculum framework.
Establish and co-ordinate student placements (in the allocated subject area), maintaining close liaison with employers and relevant Associations.
You will deliver subject learning materials to the learners with a variety of learning needs, and carry the necessary assessment preparation and planning. You will maintain student discipline in compliance with the College's Disciplinary Code and carry out duties at all times in accordance with the College's equal opportunities and health and safety procedures. This role will include travel to various employer sites and will be subject to remote working.
