We are currently looking for a Senior or Rail Principal Rail Bridge Engineer to be based within the York area working for a leading contractor within the design consultancy services working on Network Rail Bridge projects.

As the Senior or Principal Bridge Engineer would participate within a team of Rail Structures and Civil Engineers to undertake civil and structural task which would be principally focused around Rail bridge related schemes, in which you could be assigned as the design CRE on certain projects. You will be responsible for producing and the preparation of calculations, documents and input/checking of drawings for civil and structural task principally related to Rail bridge schemes. This means the candidate will need to have experience from consultancy background and is experienced in either Highways or Rail related bridge design projects, so therefore conversant in structural analysis, design and modelling software. 

The profile required for this position is a Chartered Engineer from either IStructie or ICE with at least 8 years’ experience working on Bridge schemes.   

There is also an opportunity for an Engineer of Associate Director level.

Job Requirements

Experience of the Eurocodes
To have experience working on detailed design stages for either rail or highway bridge schemes
Ideally CRE experience
Experience working on Network Rail bridge design schemes
To be proficient in structural analysis and design software in relation to bridges such as Midas, Superstress or similar
To hold a Beng/Meng in Civil/Structural Engineering 
CEng MICE of CEng IStructie
