JOB DESCRIPTION You will be part of a team involved in all aspects of vehicle preparation and painting of railway rolling stock, ensuring a quality finish is achieved which meets our clients required specification. Work is carried out on both the interior and exterior of the vehicle as well as some components being painted in a dedicated paint room. You will work with a team to deliver vehicle/ component preparation including cleaning, de-greasing, sanding, washing, masking, filling, mixing paint and vehicle painting to the highest quality standard. You will be using 2 pack paint systems; DA / orbital sanders; air fed masks and other tools and equipment as required by the method of work instructions. All work will be documented / signed off in appropriate work record books as part of our quality management system. You will comply to all safety processes, COSH regulations and environmental policies set out, including the control of emissions, management of solvents and the recycling of waste products. ABOUT YOU • Time served / qualified or with extensive relevant experience • Extensive experience (5 years or more) in brush and spray painting of rail vehicles using 2 pack paint system • Knowledge of using Hydro Top Coat water borne and solvent free coatings • Your experience will include working on railway rolling stock • You will be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic and be able to work well within a team • Quality of work, adherence to health & safety regulations and excellent attendance records are all measurable qualities that you will be assessed against • Desirable but not essential: technical qualifications in industrial spray painting (e.g. City & Guilds, SVQ, NVQ Level 2 or any other applicable qualifications)
