As lockdown restrictions ease and we start to consider travelling again, the future of cross-Channel operator Eurostar remains uncertain.
Eurostar is seeking financial support from the UK Government, citing higher access charges here as a reason.
The French Government has pledged to provide support for the operator, while £200 million has been provided by one of its shareholders, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ) and Hermes Infrastructure.
Registered in the UK and supporting 3,000 jobs either with the business or in the supply chain, the company is, however, 55% owned by SNCF (French state rail), 40% by CDPQ/Hermes and 5% by SNCB (Belgian state railways).

Hours of Work: Night shifts, 21:00 - 05:00
Salary: £12.00 per hour

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and flexible individual to join our team as a Cleaning Supervisor at our Bletchley Station within the rail sector. Within this environment health and safety is paramount, and it will be the applicants responsibility to enforce health and safety procedures and assessments when operating within the area, as well as monitor all cleaning activity and staff performance.

This role will include:

Ensuring the highest standard of cleanliness and presentation at all times
Leading teams efficiently
Arranging / rearranging rosters
Ordering and monitoring equipment and stock
Ensuring staff are fully trained and health and safety briefed when operating on-site
Identifying risks
Monitoring all cleaning activity
Report into the Presentation manager
Inducting new startersThe ideal candidate will understand the importance of health and safety, have a thorough understanding of industrial cleaning and will work proudly alongside their exceptional Carlisle colleagues, following and providing instructions and using initiative to ensure the work is completed to the highest standard.


Team leader / management experience desirable
Knowledge of the cleaning / rail industry
Flexible with working weekends, as this is a 5 on 3 off rota
Happy working with cleaning machines and equipment
PTS, IPAF or PASMA certificates desirable but not essential
