Salary: £60,000 per annum plus excellent benefits
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client's Infrastructure and Property Projects team as a Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Engineer. The M&E Engineer will ensure the M&E impact of planned enhancements are safe and suitable for the operation of stations, infrastructure and associated property. They will also approve and ensure enhancements are adequately designed to reflect current and forecast power and data requirements together with consideration for the full life cycle of assets.
Key Responsibilities:
*Maintain accurate inventory of current supply/demand for power and data across the portfolio of properties.
*Advise the business on the M&E implication of proposals and Committed Obligations and develop solutions to the challenges these proposals present.
*Forecast future requirements and the cumulative impact of all plans and Committed Obligations and design solutions to meet these requirements.
*Agree network changes with DNO and telecoms suppliers to meet these requirements with financial and timescale parameters.
*To ensure that value for money is achieved through enhancements to the estate and that the sustainability policy is applied in respect of energy performance.
*To ensure that these supplies and infrastructure amendments deliver value for money and are affordable to the business while meeting core requirements.
*Deliver these requirements using established procedures for procurement and control of contractors, negotiating with Network Rail to achieve delivery where required.
*Provide expertise and input into Carbon Neutral Stations developments and help maximise the commercial return.
Required Skills and Experience:
The right candidate will have an appropriate Mechanical & Electrical qualification at degree level and demonstrable extensive experience developing power and data requirements and solutions for delivery.
You will also have experience of understanding of safety in construction works, holding a NEBOSH/SMSTS or similar accreditation.
Previous experience of tendering and managing framework contracts, CIOB and NEC contracts would be extremely beneficial.
It would also be beneficial to have accreditation by the Chartered Institute of Building Services.
