As lockdown restrictions ease and we start to consider travelling again, the future of cross-Channel operator Eurostar remains uncertain.
Eurostar is seeking financial support from the UK Government, citing higher access charges here as a reason.
The French Government has pledged to provide support for the operator, while £200 million has been provided by one of its shareholders, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ) and Hermes Infrastructure.
Registered in the UK and supporting 3,000 jobs either with the business or in the supply chain, the company is, however, 55% owned by SNCF (French state rail), 40% by CDPQ/Hermes and 5% by SNCB (Belgian state railways).

Maintenance Engineer - Rail Telecoms (CCTV / SISS / Security Systems) x 2-3

Yorkshire ** PERMANENT ** Start ASAP! **

I am looking for several Maintenance Engineers with Rail Telecoms (CCTV / SISS / Security Systems) background, on behalf of my client, a leading rail technology company.

You will be carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance and installation works on Rail Telecoms systems, including CCTV, SISS, Alarms and Security Systems, therefore you must have previous experience within a similar role.

Your role will include being part of a callout rota which operates 24/7 (likely to be 1 in 3 weeks)

Typical Duties

Your role is to maintain rail telecoms equipment (including CCTV, SISS, Alarms, Security Systems) across the Yorkshire area.
Carry out copper and fibre cable testing and fault repairs
Respond to emergency faults on site - check, isolate and repair faults
Carry out CCTV installations, testing and commissioning works
Complete detailed fault / repairs reportsQualifications and Experience required

HNC / HND or similar in telecommunications
PTS / Sentinel card highly desirable
Full driving licence
Understanding of basic networking and IP fundamentals
Fibre and Copper cable testing and fault rectifications
Previous experience installing, testing and commissioning IP / Analogue CCTV assetsIf you have a maintenance, installation and commissioning background, within rail telecoms, please contact me or send your CV ASAP.
