Our Client, a leading JV on HS2 has an exciting Long Term opportunity for an Experienced Logistics Manager working in Birmingham City Centre!
The Project Logistics Manager shall:
1 Act as the Contractor's principal logistics point of contact with the Employer.
2 Produce and implement the Construction Logistics Strategy.
3 Produce and implementation of Construction Logistics Plans.
4 Co-ordinate with Others regarding cumulative impacts on or outside of the Site /consistent approach with other team members & HS2)
5 Integrate the Site Waste Management Plan with the Construction Logistics Plan (produced by others)
6 Manage logistics monitoring in line with the Employer’s Works lnformation or as required by Consents, including analysis and interpretation of monitoring results and actions.
7 Provide logistics data for the progress report and attend progress meetings to ensure that the Logistics Plan remains suitable, adequate and effective. Regular meeting attendance in order to provide necessary support to our client and the supply chain (subcontractors)
8 Collate all Equipment, Plant and Materials and people vehicle movements and develop point of use logistics plans as required by the Employer’s Works lnformation.
9 Liaise with Others to co-ordinate Equipment, Plant and Materials and people vehicle movements.
10 Manage personnel bookings for site induction as required by the Security Plan.
Line Managerial responsibility and direct reports:
* None
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and have responsibility for all logistics related activities to provide the works including but not limited to;
1 Provision of the material supply and logistics plan.
2 Provision of processes for logistics operations. Developing efficiencies with the CLP process.
3 Monitor movement of Equipment, Plant and Materials and people to and from the Working Areas and the working areas.
4 The removal of waste and excavated material that is not suitable for re-use.
5 Compliance with earthworks strategy.
6 The coordination of all logistics activities with Others (Regular attendance and support offered in strategy and pre-start meetings)
7 Attendance at formal meetings. Records discussions and distributes actions as required.
8 Attendance at area and project-wide logistics meetings held by the Employer and Others.
9 Liaison and coordination with Others on logistics issues.
10 Developing, planning and implementing logistics solutions to provide the Works.
Tangible deliverables and outputs of the role:
Daily: To maintain a compliant and sustainable supply chain (subcontractor) logistics strategy.
Daily: To maintain the relationship between subcontractor and HS2 alike.
Weekly: To inspect and audit subcontractor CLP's.
Weekly: To formulate CLP's when required.
Monthly: To strategise cost efficiency through the development of CLP and the logistics strategy
Monthly: Formulate KPI's and logistics processes that comply with SHEQ & Security strategies.
6 monthly: Re-evaluate the CLS.
6 monthly: Training and vehicle compliance implementation.
Accountabilities and governance:
* Strategy compliance
* CLP compliance
* SHEQ compliance & efficiency monitoring
* Process implementation & integration
* Efficiency and innovation processes
Key skills, expertise and experience required for the role:
A Senior Manager with a wide range of experience in the haulage, mechanical plant and rail industry.
Possesses the necessary skillsets to be a focused achiever. Proven leadership skills involving managing,
developing and motivating teams to achieve their objectives. Possesses first-class analytical, design and
problem solving skills. Dedicated to maintaining high standards of quality and can professionally
communicate and present at all levels in the hierarchy. A proven written communicator with high
standards in document control, presentation and business development and procurement.
