If someone mentions AC/DC do you think of 25Kv rather than 'Back In Black'? Do you think you have a strong grip of rail electrification standards?
If so, we have a unique opportunity to join on a permanent basis a rail standards organisation, based in Central London.
Joining their Energy team, you will be responsible for developing, writing, compiling and delivering technical standards related to all aspects of rail electrification, primarily AC and DC electrification.
Acting as a subject matter expert, you will be a key part of ensuring standards are compliant with changes to European and international standards, working within industry groups specialising on electrification and wider research projects.
The successful candidate for this role will be a subject matter expert on electrification, more focused on energy rather than the construction side of electrification projects. A degree in relevant subject and ideally chartered membership of relevant engineering body would be required. Excellent communication and written skills are a must but especially a passion and enthusiasm for railway electrification and making it safer and more effective for all.
We have a fair and comprehensive selection procedure. It is our policy that there should be equal opportunity for and no discrimination against applicants on the grounds of gender, race, religion or belief, nationality, colour, pregnancy and maternity, sexual orientation, disability, age, marriage and civil partnership, union or non-union membership, socio-economic background or being a part-time or fixed term worker
