Our client is looking to appoint a Head of Rail Service Outputs:

Our client is a public-private partnership responsible for setting transport investment priorities for the North. Its members speak with one voice to Government, driving transformational economic growth and creating a vibrant, prosperous North through better connectivity.

As Head of Rail Service Outputs, you will play an important role in shaping the future of rail services and lead their input into current franchises including delivery, performance, overseeing their input to timetable development and train services across the North of England, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations. A collaborative leader, you will have direct oversight of the companys input to current and future rail services and the help ensure that they meet the needs of the North. As the UK's first sub-national transport body, they are changing the way transport is planned and delivered. You will make their vision a reality, taking ownership of the delivery of the rail service aspects of the long-term, pan-Northern strategy - the Strategic Transport Plan - and spearheading compelling evidence to support investment decisions and taking forward implementation of the recently published Blake Jones review.

This senior role is integral to our clients success. Technical service delivery and strategic analysis and design work will be at the bedrock of the business cases that will deliver transformational Train Service Requirements aligned to their Long Term Rail Strategy. Not only will you be a guiding voice in shaping strategy, you will manage the programme framework, be an industry pioneer, holding partners to high standards and minimising risks.

You will twin strategic leadership with strong project management experience, alongside the confidence to communicate with a diverse and complex stakeholder community. You will become a trusted external voice for the company and build your professional relationship with key stakeholder partners.

This successful candidate requires not only extensive knowledge of the rail industry and rail performance, specifications, improvements on journey times and evolving strategies, but a passion to drive economic growth through cutting edge rail delivery and continuous improvements. You will be adept at managing a portfolio of projects, honed with understanding of the regional and national policy context and political drivers. Your ability to turn technical information into coherent investment stories will help their communities see the broader picture and support the company vision.
