An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Engineer or Assistant Engineer to join one of the world's leading rail engineering programmes based in London but due to the current climate this position will start as working from home. If you have an analytical mind, a proactive approach to work and have aspirations of working in the thriving UK rail industry this will be an excellent opportunity for you. 

The position of Graduate Engineer / Assistant Engineer will see you work very closely with the newly appointed Chief Programme Officer within the newly formed Chief Programme Office Group. You will attend meetings and produce high quality papers and materials ensuring effectiveness. Other responsibilities will include:

Monitor completion of Chief Programme Officer's actions from the Board, Sponsor, Board committees, Internal Audit etc and delegate and follow up open actions with the leadership team.
Attend meetings with the Chief Programme Officer where required and produce minutes and actions if required.
Prepare draft responses to correspondence
Prepare presentations and speaking materials for senior audiences
Undertake ad hoc research as necessary to support the activities of the Chief Programme Officer
Work closely with the Senior Business Manager and Senior PA to ensure effective prioritisation of activity in the Chief Programme Officer’s office, including monitoring the  email inbox and delegating/escalating tasks as required.
Own the Chief Programme Officer's “next 100 days” plan and ensure actions are completed as expected.
Work with the offices of the CEO, Chairman and Chief Programme Officer to support effective operations and collaboration across the Executive team.
Ensure effective and methodical follow-up to activities undertaken
Be prepared to take on a wide variety of tasks at short notice
Promote equality in the workplace and adopt appropriate behaviour when interacting with colleagues 
To be considered for the role of Graduate Engineer / Assistant Engineer candidates will ideally be degree qualified in an engineering discipline. You will have an analytical mind and proactive approach to your work. If you have experience of working in a rail environment this will be an added advantage but not essential.
