Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:
* Producing accurate and comprehensive estimates in a timely and efficient manner
* Controlling and managing the estimating process at project level
* Developing and promoting estimating good practice within NEWCO
* Producing all estimates in accordance with relevant client procedures, work instructions, systems (eg CostX, RIB, CATO, etc) and processes
* Applying and using recognised, appropriate method of measurement rules (eg RMM) in the preparation of all estimates
* Supporting client procurement teams with tender and/or contract price analysis and reference to baseline and revised estimates
* Supporting client commercial teams with unit cost modelling, costs analysis feedback for final account and/or significant contract scope proposed change analysis and preparation of project close-out analysis
Supporting the collation of data for KPIs as defined and required
Qualifications
Requirements:
* BSc in quantity surveying or equivalent
* Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
* A minimum of five years’ technical delivery experience in the provision of estimating and/or QS services
* Pre- and post-contract experience
* Understanding of project management, planning, risk and investment processes
* Working knowledge of cost planning techniques for the financial control of projects during design development stages
* Proficient in use of unit cost modelling tools
* Good technical writing, client-facing and communication skills
* Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
* A team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible
